Life is Peachy!

The Color gods have spoken!  This year’s Pantone color of the year is….. (drumroll please)... PEACH FUZZ!  Peach can be a very polarizing color.  Worry not!  Love it or hate it, we’re here to help you use it and make it look effortless!  With the help of companion colors, textures, and pattern play, we will make sure that your apartment looks… well… peachy!

Companion Colors

By using companion colors, you can either make the peach tones pop or pull them back and soften them up.  Are you ready to go absolutely peach wild?  Pair it with a stunning shade of peacock or a rich, lovely green.  According to Architectural Digest, 2024 is going to be a delicious blend of jewel tones, peach, rich patterns, and historical pieces.  Out goes the stark whites and grays of the early 2020’s, in comes the romance and drama of maximalist color blends.  We want color, and we want it now!

Not quite ready to splash peach around like confetti at a New Years Eve party?  That’s okay, too!  Layer it into muted tones like white or beige to create a romantic, ethereal space.  This is the perfect vibe for bedrooms or bathrooms to create a very light and relaxing atmosphere.

Texture

This year it’s all about layering in lots of colors, textures and patterns.  Texture is a great opportunity to pop in some peach without competing against other strong elements in the rooms.  A thick-knit blanket, a fluffy rug, or piped pillows are a great way to add visual interest and fun things to snuggle into.  Texture is a great way to make a room feel more cozy and inviting.  A throw blanket tossed over the arm of a sofa can make a room seem put-together but also effortless.

Pattern

Patterns are a fantastic opportunity to infuse personality into a room and provide visual interest and can even be used to break up different zones in the room.  Masterclass.com advises “Mixing and matching patterns and colors can expand your design capabilities, but doing too much can overwhelm the room. Mix in solid colors every so often to break up the lines and shapes of your patterns. Also, keep your patterns flowing throughout the entire room, and not just regulated to one side.”

I know what you’re thinking.  But how do I do this in an apartment?   I can’t paint walls!  My friends - textiles, wall art and furniture are your besties!  Go forth and create something incredible.  Peach is such a playful and flexible color!  Utilizing companion colors, texture, and patterns you can confidently embrace the fun and fabulous tone that is peach fuzz!
